Roger Collins, owner of Black Queen in Lightning Ridge, director of Inland NSW Tourism and former chair of Outback Tourism, was awarded the Ted Wilson Award at the Countrylink Inland Tourism Awards last Saturday Night in Mudgee.
Roger said it was such a shock as he had not known that he was nominated for any award.
“I was there for a meeting and members of the meeting said as we are here we may as well attend the dinner, unbeknown to me of my nomination,” he said.
“It is so hard to get my head around being presented this award, it is so hard to put into words, it is such a great honour.
“Ted Wilson is such an inspiration, this is a huge honour.”
