The Lightning Ridge Piranhas Swim Club attended the annual Walgett Amateur Swimming Club carnival on Sunday. Twenty Piranhas competed, all doing us proud.
Liam Hughes won gold in 14 years 50 metre freestyle and 14 years 50 metre breaststroke and silver in open 100 metre breaststroke.
Marnie Jones won gold in 13 years 50 metre freestyle, silver in 13 years 50 metre, open 100 metre backstroke, 13 years 50 metres butterfly, open 50 metre butterfly, 13 years 50 metre breaststroke, open 100 metre breaststroke and bronze in open 100 metres freestyle.
Lauren Hughes won gold in 12 years 50 metre freestyle, 11/12 years 100 metre freestyle, 12 years 50 metre backstroke, 11/12 years 100 metre backstroke, 12 years 50 metre butterfly, open 100 metre butterfly, 12 years 50 metre breaststroke and 11/12 years 100 breaststroke, 11/12 years individual medley, 11/12 years dash for cash. Lauren also claimed three carnival records.
Rory Cheal won gold in 12 years 50 metre freestyle, 12 years 50 metres backstroke, 11/12 years 100 metre backstroke, 12 years 50 metres butterfly, 12 years 50 metre breaststroke, 11/12 years 100 metres breaststroke, 11/12 years dash for cash,11/12 years individual medley and silver in the 11/12 years 100 metre freestyle.
Zarleigh Jones won gold in 11 years 50 metre freestyle, 11 years 50 metre backstroke, 11 years 50 metre butterfly, 11 years 50 metre breaststroke and bronze in open butterfly.
Jasmine Tooth won bronze in 11 years 50 metre backstroke.
Xhana Tishler won bronze in 10 years 50 metre freestyle, 10 years 50 metre backstroke, 10 years 50 metre butterfly.
Oscar Cheal won silver in 10 and under 100 metre backstroke, 10 years boys 50 metre backstroke, 9/10 boys dash for cash, bronze in 10 and under 100 metre freestyle, 10 years 50 metre freestyle, 10 years 50 metre butterfly, 10 years 50 metre breaststroke and 10 and under individual medley.
Madyson Tooth won bronze in 9 years 50 metre freestyle and 9 years 50 metre butterfly.
Sean White won bronze in 8 and under 50 metre breaststroke.
Chris Jones won silver in 8 and under 50 metre butterfly.
Tallulah Chesworth won gold in 7 years 33 metre freestyle, 7 years 33 metre backstroke, 7 years 33 metre butterfly and 7 years 33 metre breaststroke.
Chris, Sean, Tallulah and Luca Cheal won bronze in the 8 and under mixed relay, Lauren, Rory, Zarleigh and Jasmine won silver in the 12 and under mixed relay and Liam, Lauren, Marnie and Anna Miglietta won silver in the open mixed relay.
Congratulations to Farren Lamb, Luke White, Bridget and Tully Ritter who all swam their first carnival. They all swam their best and enjoyed the experience.
