The Lightning Ridge Piranhas Swim Club competed at Narrabri last weekend again travelling by bus, which was kindly donated by Katrina and Alistair Clein of North West Bus Lines.
It was a long day for all our swimmers, some competing in 10 events.
Our little Piranhas did us proud once again. Savannah Chesworth won bronze in the 25 metre breaststroke.
Kyh Samuelsson won gold in 25 metre breaststroke, and silver in, backstroke and bronze in butterfly and freestyle.
Tallulah Chesworth won gold in the 25 metre butterfly and breaststroke and silver in backstroke and freestyle.
Eli Lohse won silver in 25 metre freestyle and bronze in backstroke.
It’s great to see these little ones having a go and committed to their training.
Lauren Hughes won gold in the individual medley, 50m and 100m fly, 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke, silver in 50m backstroke and breaststroke. Rory won gold in the individual 200m medley, 50m and 100m fly, 50m and 100m breaststroke, 50m and 100m backstroke, silver in 100m freestyle.
It was wonderful to see Marnie Jones in the water swimming for the Ridge once again.
Marnie won bronze in 50m freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke and 100m breaststroke. Zarleigh Jones won gold in butterfly and freestyle, silver in 100 butterfly and bronze in backstroke and dash for cash.
Oscar Cheal won silver in 50m breaststroke, 50m and 100m freestyle and bronze in 50m butterfly.
Madyson and Jasmine Tooth competed in their first carnival for the season, both swimming exceptionally good times taking seconds off their PB.
The highlight of the day was once again the relays. Luca Cheal, Chris Jones, Kyh and Tallulah who won bronze in the under 8’s 4x50m relay. Rory, Lauren, Marnie and Zarleigh claimed gold in the under 12’ 4x50m relay and silver in the under 14s 4x50m relay.
The Piranhas head to Walgett on the 18th and encourage all our swim club members to attend.
