 Youth secret to success

Youth secret to success

08 Dec, 2005 08:57 AM
We had a fine turnout of 15 players on a very mild night on November 28. More new gals joined in and tried their arm. There were lots of laughs and quite a few shots that surprised not only the onlookers but the ones doing the bowling.

Tracey's daughter Sharne proved that a good eye and arm runs in the family and from her first bowl she was a star as lead. She and Ricci were shot for shot proving that we should all have started young.

Kerry, on her first night, took to being a "swinger" like a duck to water. Keep on swinging, Kerry! The overall winners for the night were Joan's team with Kim and Sharne.

Players should be very careful about what they vow to do if their team loses on the night.

Witnesses to Jackie's payout were not only the laughing players, but the police over at the station, and the men from the church at their dinner, in spite of Yvonne's attempts to hide the "moon". Must have given them a different view of sinning. Luckily she never vowed to "streak". For this display she took out the "upfront" award, but in fine form for the night she also earned the "witchy-poo" for calling the "pussy" names after driving her ball and taking the end with the last shot.

Yvonne was awarded the "dummy spit" and we all saw how well she handled it, too. Kim was awarded the "too perfect" award for her scrupulous measuring and Liz received the "Dame Edna".

Hope to see everyone on Monday December 12 for the last game of the year. Names down at 6- 6.15pm in the Bowlers Lounge.

New players welcome, just bring comfortable shoes and a sense of humour. Contact Lurline for details on 0407 238 314.
