Under 16 league team set for big things this season

With our first away game of the year it was very important to come away with a win and it looked very promising from the start of the day when the boys turned up in numbers to make the trip into the gate.

With a new-look backline the Ridge took control out wide and never looked like being overplayed but to Walgett's credit they stuck to their plans and in some stages it appeared that they would overcome the Ridge.

But the local boys got back to doing the little things in rugby league and held on for an encouraging 28-22 win.

Best players for the Ridge were Eddie Pitt, Adrian Bamford, Tynan Knight and PJ Spicer, and with continuing good performances these guys can handle any position on the paddock.

Again there will be training Tuesday and Thursday nights and every player is required to be there, because let's face it this side is a true contender for the premier's trophy.

To be a true contender you have to have your full side at training every night to perfect the little things in our game.

Once again boys well done on your win but our work is not finished yet, there is a long way to go this year but the signs are there that this could be a year to remember.

Our next game will be against the Goodooga Magpies at home on Sunday, June 30.
