The Lightning Ridge Central School under 14 rugby team has qualified to go through to compete against the top schools after competing at Moree last week.
The team played five other high school teams including Moree Secondary College, Walgett, Bingara and Boggabilla.
The Lightning Ridge team made it into the finals on the day but were defeated by Moree Secondary College.
The two top teams qualified to go through to play the top schools from Tamworth and Dubbo in May.
Man of the Match on the day was Tim Carter.
The Lightning Ridge team consisted of Rodney Raveneau, Tim Carter, Jordan McGovern, Steven Marsh, George Radakovic, Benjamin Walford, Brad Fraser, Gavin McKellar, Leon Taylor, Mitchell Williams and Gavin Falzaden.
