Trophy day for Tigers - Junior league's high achievers recognized

Last Sunday saw the all-conquering Ridge Tigers Rugby League teams celebrate their season with a super presentation day held at Nobbies. Entertainment was donated by DJ Grassy and a barbecue was on the go to feed the hungry Tigers.

A large crowd was in attendance to congratulate our Balonne/

Barwon competition winners U8, U10 Gold, U12s

Every player in all teams was awarded trophies, team jersey and team photo, as just rewards for their tremendous efforts on the footy field this season. Individual awards to U8s were best back Samuel Jackson, best forward, Tom O'Brien, most improved Patrick Moore, coach's award Trae Hooper, training award to Carl Mason, Ted Smith, Kyle McGovern, best and fairest Robbo Lane, players' player Robbo Lane, Lawrence Walford Shield for most consistent was won by Joshua McCormick and Joel Vrtacnik. Robbo Lane was also awarded clubman of the year for his sportsmanship shown on the field and backing up for the U10 sides, not to mention his great football ability.

U10Black: Best back Robert Morris, best forward Mitchell McGovern, coach's award Wesley Vrtcnik, most improved Van O'Brien, training awards to Reece Brown, Jayden Brown, Angus Legge, Darcy Barrettt. The Ella Nagy Shield was awarded to Matty McGregor, most valuable Robert Morris, best and fairest Ceejay Harrison.

U10 Gold Balonne/Barwon 2005 Shield Winners: best back Ashley Wood, best forward Greg Brown, coach's award Todd Ellis, most improved Darcy Kidd, training awards to Jaxon Tooth, Declan Whitlow, Rydge Mapperson, Blake Brown, Logan Taylor. Dean Alchin award Ashley Wood, best and fairest George McCormick, players' player Brody Simon.

U12s premiers Balonne/Barwon 2005: Best back Tyron Drew, Best forward Zac Cobb, most improved Mark Winch, coach's award Thomas Winch, training awards to Zac Taylor, John Brogan, Zoran Mason, Andrew Nagel, Kaleb Bolton, David Cubby, Keiha Vrtacnik, Pat Smith, Sean Pandell, Max Troutmen, Fred Morgan Memorial Trophy Terry Brown, best and fairest Thomas Alchin, player of the year Thomas Alchin, players' player James Honery.

Appreciation certificates were awarded to individual business houses who have supported our JRL club in 2005-08-24. It was a great day and a fitting way to end the season.

Winners of the NSW tracksuit and signed ball: 1st Aaron Saunders, 2nd Angie Brown.

The daily prize was won by Coocoron girl Sharon Moore.

The Tigers JRL Club has received a NSW State of Origin jersey signed and numbered by all the players in game two, 2005 series. It is numbered 94 out of only 100 made and a beefwood frame is now being made to mount it on your wall. We will be raffling this tremendous prize in the coming weeks, so get your tickets, thanks to NSWRL.

The Tigers U14 side to take part in a Brisbane Broncos/Ergon Energy 9s comp was named recently. They will travel to St George to play sides from Roma, Western Downs, Charleville and St George. With Broncos in attendance this is a great opportunity for our kids. All the best U14s.
