The Lightning Ridge Junior Netball Club held its presentation day on Monday evening awarding a number of players.
About 50 netball girls and their mothers joined the committee for a meal and the awards presentation.
Best and fairest went to Mia Strasek, Haille Jeffries picked up the encouragement award, Jessica Knee was acknowledged for best defence and Emma Smith received recognition for being the most improved player throughout the season.
All sub-juniors were presented with trophies for their participation this season, and it is hoped this will encourage them to continue in the game of netball.
Thanks went to Sandra who coached the netballers this year.
The netball season went for six months and committee spokesperson Priscilla Strasek said they did have some new players join.
"We had many new sub-juniors and also some juniors, but most of these had been playing with each other for the past five years."
She said although the season had officially finished for the year the committee was still looking at hosting the inter-town gala day next month.
"A lot of the girls are getting better all the time, but it's a bit disappointing at times, because they just don't get enough competition.
"We're hoping to improve that next year by better communication with the surrounding towns, because most of them have one netball team at least," Ms Strasek said.
