Regardless of the weather, approximately 15 selected Ridge players adjourned to the driest playing surface in the district in Dirranbandi for the last of the selection games, possibles v probables in under-10 and under-12 age groups to try and make it through to representative honors.

Ashley Wood, George McCormick, Ceejay Harrison, Todd Ellis, Wesley Vrtacnik, Robert Morriss and Matty McGregor all played well in the game.

With over 44 players trying out for the side it was difficult for the selectors to leave players out.

Fifteen players were selected and two shadow players.

Our five Ridge Tigers, under-10 players selected in the Balone/Barwon Representative side to play in Redcliffe (Queensland) mid June are Robert Morris, George McCormick, Ceejay Harrison, Ashley Wood and Matty McGregor was selected as a shadow player.

George McCormick (Snr) will manage the team.

Danny Drew (coach) and Danny Seaton (Manager) will take their under-12 representative side to Cunamulla for their week long carnival.

Tigers players picked for the side are Zac Taylor, James Honery, Zoran Mason, Terry Brown, Max Troutman and Tyron Drew, crogradulations to all players for trying out for these sides.

A big well done to those players representing, you have done our town proud.

In other news, this Saturday the venue is Dirranbandi for a junior rugby league carnival.

The bus will depart from the Bowling Club at 6.45am, and please note the bus fare has increased due to a rise in fuel prices and bus hire.

It will be $5 per child, adult or spectator and players and parents will be given priority to seating available.
