Swimming club keen to attract new members

21 Oct, 2005 10:00 AM
Club president Malcolm Holland said: "We are keen to get more kids competing and we're more than happy to help them travel if they need."

This week sees the start of the swimming season, with the first time trials to be held on Friday, October 21.

Registration begins at 4.15pm and costs $40 for the first two children and $25 for any child after that. Children will not be able to swim until their fees have been paid.

For the first few weeks it will be casual swimming, with points scoring to begin on Friday, November 4.

The Swimming Club AGM was held last Thursday, with all positions open. Malcolm Holland retained the presidency, Liz Gawthorpe became vice president, Geof Chaffey became the secretary and registrar, and Zuzana Sisa stayed as treasurer. Other committee members are Yen Holland, Jeff Naismith and Jo Strasek.

The next meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 26.
