Strikers work together for strong win over Walgett

The Lightning Ridge Strikers junior soccer teams played Walgett on Saturday on the Lightning Ridge ovals.

The under 13s team won against Walgett four goals to one.

Two goals were scored by Ryan Peacock, one by Bill Turk and one by Darren Pocock.

Lightning Ridge played well as a team, especially the forwards.

Walgett was very brave in their defence and deserve a lot of praise for their effort.

The under 10s played a competitive game; no goals were scored in the first game.

In the second game Lightning Ridge won two goals to one.

The under 9s played a great game with the Lightning Ridge team putting their hearts into it and winning six to one.

Two goals were scored by Ceejay, while Jayden and Angus and Guy scored one goal each.

It was a good all-round effort by all players.

In the under 7s game Walgett took charge in the first half of the game scoring four goals.

Lightning Ridge were a bit slow to get into a rhythm, but in the second half both teams picked up the pace with Liam scoring one goal.

Walgett beat Lightning Ridge six to one.
