Soccer sides share their talent in tough contests

The Strikers had quite a few missing in the under 6s, making up the numbers with 7s and some Walgett players.

Walgett also added some under 7s and won the game 4-0.

In a combined game with the Walgett under 8s/9s the Ridge borrowed some players and did extremely well.

Liam Hughes, Jake Pedan, Darcy Single, Ben Ferguson and Jaryd Maude were not fazed by playing against the older kids. They displayed some great passing moves, tackling and dribbling.

It was the first time they had played on a bigger field with the full-size goals.

The final score of 6-6 reflected the closeness of the match, well done Strikers.

The Ridge under 10s, 11s, 12s and 13s played together against the Walgett under 10s, 11s and 12s in one long but very close game.

The girls worked hard in defence, with good tackling from Leanne.

Luke's corners and goal kicks were powerful and Sam has found a hidden talent as goal keeper, and shows great promise in the position.

The Halves helped out all the time in defence and attack displaying fitness and stamina. The final score was Wolves 7 Strikers 6 with two goals from Tassy, three from Locky and one from Geoffrey.

This Saturday is a home game.
