Soccer player show top talent against Walgett

19 Aug, 2004 12:48 PM
The Lightning Ridge Strikers travelled to Walgett on the weekend with all the teams playing well against the Wolves.

The fives, sixes and sevens played one mixed game with two long 30 minute halves.

All players were outstanding and Lightning Ridge won 2-0.

Congratulations to all Under-8 players you all played well with an excellent result.

The first game was won by the Ridge four goals to two.

Dominic and Jayden scored a goal each and Ceejay scored two goals.

Keep up the good work kids.

We are looking forward to Narrabri next Sunday.

The Under-9s and 10s played four games and unfortunately lost them all.

In the first game Walgett beat them 6-0 and in the second Lightning Ridge fought back and scored two goals but went down 3-2.

Thank you Harvey for helping us out and playing for the Ridge.

In game three Walgett won 4-3.

This was a very good game with some of the eight years players helping the nines and 10s.

In the fourth game Walgett won 2-1, another good game to watch.

In the combined Under-11s, 12s and 13s the game was drawn with a penalty kick by Darren 4 all.

Josh scored one goal, Ryan scored two and Darren scored the penalty shot.

Well played first half and defended well against the wind in the second and fourth quarters. Special thanks to Josh, Sid, Patrick and Dylan for helping Lightning Ridge out.
