The 2004 season for the Lightning Ridge Snooker and Pool Club is now under way, with the membership book wide open to all, new and not so new, wannabe legends or just social pokers.
It's only $15 for the season, and with just three Thursday nights or Sunday noon comps played during the year, you've earned your ticket to the Pool Club's Christmas Party at the Bowling Club on Presentation night. Drinks and dinner are free on the day. If you can't manage the three games or have a non-playing partner that may like to join, the Chrissy Party will cost an extra $10.
Currently we are taking names for the John Robinson Open Pool Competition with a $100 first prize and $50 second, with trophies. This is open to the public, regardless of Pool Club membership, and it will kick off on Sunday February 29.
Names are also being taken for the L.R.B.C. Open Snooker Championship, sponsored by the Bowling Club, with prize money and trophies as above. The draw will be done on Sunday March 7.
Future comps will require Pool Club Membership to enter.
All these games are played in the Miners Bar at the L.R.B.C., where more information can be obtained. Look for President Batman, Shaky Vice Pres, Secretary Haggis or Treasurer Shine, who are taking membership fees up till June 30.
Good luck to all players and have fun on the way.
