The first two rounds of the Minor Singles Championships were played last Saturday.

A field of 16 bowlers contested the event and after the two games the semi-final stage has been reached.

These games will be played this Saturday with Phil Turner versus Ron Orchard and Joe Demkanin up against Len May.

The final will be played on the same day.

Sunday saw the start of the District Fours Championships.

With a disappointing six teams only nominated, this competition is down to the final, which will be played this Saturday morning.

The game will be between two Ridge sides and should be an excellent game.

The teams are Phil W Morris, Rex Skuthorpe, Graham Morris and Phil A Morris against Dave Cooper, Noel Burke, Joe Demkanin and Stefan Greenwood.

Club selectors have finalised the two pennant squads for the zone play-offs and these teams are on the notice board.

Players involved in these sides are urged to spend as much time on the green as possible between now and the first weekend in May, as a victory at the zone will once again see the club represented in the State finals.
