The real winners were those who decided not to play because of the severe weather conditions.

Nine of us set off despite the icy wind but were eventually brought to a halt by persistent rain turning the course into a mud bath.

Our captain decided to calculate the results on 9 holes only.

Jan Davis and Laurel Voeks were clear winners with 44 points.

Runners-up were Irene Taylor and Elyn Nexo and Kay Hogan and Sally Williams won a ball each.

In the veterans rain stopped play.

Friday chook run

Winner was Alan Huskisson, chooks to Chris Underwood, PJ Spicer, Heidi, Tynan Morris, Bruce Buchanan, Elyn Nexo, Irene Taylor, Terry Wohni, DJ Dean and Ron Hogan.

Saturday 12 hole stableford

Winner was Col Cooper, runner up was Ron Hogan, with the ball winners Kay Hogan and Terry Wohni.

The club house was being transformed during the afternoon in preparation for a huge birthday party.

Sounds as though everyone had a wonderful time.

Thanks to all the helpers and congratulations to the birthday girl.
