More than 60 bowlers from throughout the district and the northwest joined Lightning Ridge District Bowling Club's president Peter Williams on Sunday to celebrate his day on President's Day.

Visiting clubs from Narrabri, Wee Waa, Goodooga, Walgett and Collarenebri sent teams to the Ridge to compete in the two games of 16 ends held on the day.

Sixteen teams consisting of four players made up the numbers for the annual President's Day event.

The winners for the social event ended up being the president himself, Peter Williams and his team of men David Samuelson, Nathan Woodcock and Neville Field.

The Goodooga team made up of Tommy Stanton, Bill Stanton, Tommy Stanton Jr, and Tony Lamb took out the runners-up place.

President Williams said he was happy with the turnout on the day and felt all visiting clubs were well represented.

Special guest Royal NSW Bowling Association zone three president Les Hoffman from Burren Junction awarded place winners with their prizes at the presentation following.
