Popovic claims pile of trophies

16 Dec, 2004 09:13 AM
With all that lovely rain we missed out of most of the golf this week and only had a game on Wednesday. With nearly six inches of rain even the new council dam, finished or not, is full to the brim.

Wednesday Vets

Winner was Wolf Moosmueller on a count back with Heidi Smith, and balls went to Kath Johnston, Pat Smith and Victor Borkovic.

Our presentation on Sunday was well attended. After the presentation I was asked whether Joe Popovic was the only one playing this year as he took home so many of the trophies. Congratulations to all winners.

With all the rain you can practically hear the grass growing. It is a bit early to get on the fairways with the big mower but Bruce Buchanan is already out there cutting the tees. Many thanks to Bruce who has been putting in a lot of hours.

Sunday: 18 or 12 hole Stableford depending on the weather. There is a ham and turkey for the winner and runner-up.
