Pool competition
Last Thursday night's pool competition saw newcomer Joan shoot her way through the 22 strong field to defeat Roman in the finals.
Sunday turned out to be a great day's competition with 'Spud' Almond nudging Alfie Seaton out of the finals to bag the prize.
This was followed by the marathon best of seven final of the John Robinson Singles Competition where the crowd stayed on to witness Chris "Batman" Bamford take on the hot shooting Alf Seaton.
‘Batman' came out blazing and at three to one up, looked like winning comfortably.
Alf had other plans though and before long the fans were watching the boys battle out the decider in the 7th.
Tragedy struck and as Alfie was looking like the comeback king on the black, the white's dropped in and the game, prize and trophy go to ‘Batman'.
Congratulations to both fellas for their fine efforts and fine Sunday afternoon entertainment.
Names are still being taken for the Open Doubles Competition.
This competition is open to all members of the Lightning Ridge Bowling Club and is set down to start on Sunday, May 19.
Club memberships are now overdue, and incur a $5 late fee taking registrations up to $20 until further notice.
