On Saturday May 8 we travelled to Walgett and had a great morning.

The five-years team played two games against Walgett.

The first game was won by Walgett five goals to three. The three goals for Lightning Ridge were scored one each by Lauren Hughes, Thomas Murray and a very generous Walgett player!

The second game proved to be very exciting with Lightning Ridge winning three goals to one, with Thomas Murray scoring a goal and Arabella McKenzie scoring two.

Under the guidance of Tanya Gardener the teams played very well for their first ever game and it was great to see some good sportsmanship among the five-years.

The seven-years side had a very close game and played well

with Walgett winning three goals to two. Our goals were scored by Logan Whitlow (1) and Liam Hughes (1).

We had to mix eights and nines, and they didn't win but played their hearts out. Ceejay Harrison scored three goals and Walgett won six to three.

Tens played a great game, Bobbie played really well. Walgett won two to nil. We also had to mix 11s, 12s and 13s, and they had a good win beating Walgett five to three. Lochy scored two goals, Darren one goal and Ryan and Damien also scored a goal each.

Good work kids, keep it up.

Walgett are playing here on Saturday May 22, 9am start.

The Coonabarabran carnival is on Sunday May 23.
