Members jump in to work on course

11 Feb, 2004 04:14 PM
A lot of work is being done on the course with almost everyone doing their bit.

The slasher, whipper-snipper and little mowers are going and even greens are being newly sanded.

A big thank you to all the members with special thanks going to Ron Canlin, Joe Popovic and Pat Smith.

The pig weed is becoming a pest.

It just seems to lay down as soon as it sees a mower in sight and then stands up again as soon as the mower has passed.

Veterans

The winner of the vets' competition was Wolf Moosmueller with Pat Smith as runner-up.

Friday chicken run

It was nice to see young Tony Webb back to play.

It's hard for the young people of this town to find work locally and so they have to travel further just to try to get a job.

Tony was the winner of the chook run with 21 points on a three way count back with Felix Monch and Brett Hyland also on 21 points - the last chook going to Vidar Hanvold with 20 points.

Sunday

The winning team for the 4BBB was Ron Canlin and Val Boardman with Mal Carpenter and Terry Wohni as runner-up.
