Aboriginal netballers from around the State are being encouraged to take part in this year's Koori Women's Netball Tournament.
The tournament, which is in its fifth year, will be held on October 18 and 19 at the Charlestown Netball Courts in Newcastle.
Last year 14 teams from throughout New South Wales participated, including a team from Lightning Ridge.
The tournament will also be used to select players for an Under 19s development squad, where players will vie for a position in the New South Wales team to play Queensland in the annual NASCA "State of Origin" series 2003.
1999 World Champion Australian Women's Netball team member and NASCA development manager, Sharon Finnan will be one of the selectors at the tournament for the Under 19s squad.
Courses in strapping and taping, and sports massage are also being made available to coaches, managers and players on the first day of the tournament.
Registration forms are now available from the Department of Sport and Recreations Newcastle office on 4926 1633.
