A new committee was recently formed for junior rugby league, with Lawrence Walford elected as president.
Tom Lachlin took on the role of vice president, Louise Chesworth became treasurer, June Chesworth was appointed as secretary, and Rhonda Ashford took on the position of publicity officer.
Details of what is coming up for our junior grades includes our registration day to be held on Friday next week at 5:30pm.
Special guest will be one of rugby league's toughest players, Ronny 'Rambo' Gibbs.
Ronny will also be here to do a level one coaching course for all those interested people who want to coach, starting the same day as our registration day and finishing the day after.
The grades that we are looking at starting are under 15s, under 12s, and under 9s, but that is not to say we can't have other grades.
It just depends on what sort of numbers we have in players, so everyone who wants to play league, come down to the Spider Brown Oval on Friday, May 17 at 5:30pm and sign up.
This weekend there will be a game between the Ridge and Yetta Tigers from Brewarrina starting at 2pm on Sunday at the Spider Brown Oval, so get down and show your support for the boys.
Once again this week's talking point is alcohol at the Oval. From now on anyone seen with alcohol at the oval will be asked to leave, no second chances and if they refuse to do so, then the police will be called to deal with the matter, so do the right thing by your club and respect the rights of others who are trying to enjoy the footy.
