Heat fails to deter golfers

18 Feb, 2004 05:04 PM
The winner was Victor Borkovic and the runner-up was Val Boardman.

Friday chicken run

The winner was Ron Canlin and chooks to Ron Mackay and Pat Smith.

Sunday

A good roll up for last Sunday's stableford and the winners were Pat Smith and the runner-up was Heidi Smith.

Fun day

Many thanks to all those people who braved the extremely hot weather but who also had a great day.

Long drive - Reg Huntley's great drive unfortunately hit one of the markers and bounced back some 20 metres. Doug Panther eventually took out the long drive from Vida Hanvold with some 280 metres - great shots.

Nearest the centre line was won by Heidi Smith

Nearest the pin was won by Wolf - no one took out the jackpot hole in one.

There were multiple winners for the chipping - some very close shots.

We would like to those all those winners who donated their prize money back to the club. This is appreciated.

Thank you to Reg again for his donation of bread, onions, tomatoes etc. Thank you to Ox, Derek and Winsome for the cooking etc.

Kim Wormald generously made a donation to the club in lieu of playing.

There was also a further great donation by Bushy Bill - thank you very much Bill.

Eddie Webb was there again behind the bar and it was great to see the young chaps turn up and christen the 'cool room bar'.

This week

Friday chook run 8am to 3pm hit off

Sunday 18 holes 8am start.

The board would like to thank the Lightning Ridge Bowling Club for their assistance.

A big welcome yo our new lady member Tina Gibson.
