Great weather for interclub golf titles

26 May, 2004 10:04 PM
Round One of the Annual Glengarry Grawin interclub championship was played in excellent weather on Grawin's challenging golf course on Sunday.

There were 16 players from each team. Grawin won the round by one point.

Philip Williams (Grawin Club) was the winner with 47 points, second placegetter was Dave Hardman (Glengarry Club) with 43 points, and third was Lillian Bull (Grawin Club) with 41 points.

Bob Brooks got the men's longest drive, while Lillian Bull outdrove the other ladies.

Lillian also won a six pack for nearest the pin on the 6th hole.

Other nearest the pin winners were Jim Punton, John Sneddon and Leo Ballard.

Ted Cummings got the Bradman Award.

The Glengarry team all agreed it was a very enjoyable social day and would like to thank the Grawin ladies for the wonderful kebabs, sausage sandwiches, quiche and cake. We look forward to round two.
