Great golf prizes up for grabs on weekend

The Lightning Ridge Golf Club is holding two Terry Wohni Open Days this weekend with $2000 worth of trophies up for grabs.

The weekend will begin on Saturday at 12pm with an 18 hole stableford, and continue on the Sunday at 9.30am.

There will be prizes for male and female winners and runners-up and nearest to the flag on the second, third, fourth, eleventh and sixteenth holes.

There will be sausage sizzles on both days and the presentations will begin on Sunday afternoon.

There is a $12 nomination fee for the competitions.

Wednesday 18 hole stableford

The winner was a surprised Michelle Knee. Well done. Runner-up was Kay Hogan and a ball each went to Sally Williams and Kath Johnston.

Vets

Winner was Knud Nexo.

Friday chook run

Winner was Knud Nexo and chooks went to Heidi Monch, Sally Williams, Victor Borkovic, Michelle Knee and Christian and Elyn Nexo.

Saturday 12 hole medley stableford

Winner was Sally Williams and runner-up was Elyn Nexo.

Sunday men's 9th medal round

Winner was Knud Nexo with 68 nett thereby reducing his handicap by one.

He must have been getting some coaching during the week.

Runner-up was Joe Popovic. A ball each went to Adam Webb and Val Boardman.

This week's games

Tomorrow: 10 hole chook run, 8.30am to 3.30pm hit off.

Saturday: Terry Wohni's 18 hole stableford, 12pm hit off, sausage sizzle and lots of trophies.

Sunday: Terry Wohni's 18 hole stableford, 9.30am hit off. Barbecue and trophies galore.

Wednesday: Cross Country, 8.30am hit off (note time change).

Vets: 12 hole stabeford, 8.30am hit off.
