All unpleasant, violent or depressing emotions are called negative emotions.
They can destroy our physical body.
The first step to get rid of them is to try to observe them.
The second step is to study them in you and the third step is to get rid of them.
After a certain amount of self study and self observation you will notice that negative emotions are not obligatory and that they belong to an artificial centre in us, which we create in childhood, by imitating people with negative emotions.
Some people teach children to express them.
Children can even learn them by imitating other children.
With so much negativity around them children become professors of negative emotions.
It is a great liberation to understand that there are no obligatory negative emotions.
Oriental teaching says that we are born without them, but some unknown reason we teach ourselves negative emotions even though they may not be essentially part of our nature.
It is important to understand instinctive and emotional functions shift very quickly when we are in an emotional state.
In fact, they succeed each other so quickly that we have no time to think.
A good way to understand this is to try and observe yourself whilst performing quick movements, it is impossible.
Thought cannot follow movement.
You have to make the movement quite slowly, like in yoga practise or t'ai chi, so that you can see.
This is a fact.
If you try to observe yourself, you'll notice many interesting things within yourself and your attitude to other things.
Everything in our life is interconnected.
