The amenities block and male and female change rooms have been painted, partitioned, door and locks put in and now it only needs Ged's expertise to put in place the toilets and cisterns, showers and urinals.
The judges and press room are up, all it needs are counters and painting.
The diving towers: All railings are up, it's painted and all it needs is the Roughtex on the matting for the platforms which has already been ordered from Canada.
The pool: we have started tiling and maybe by Christmas will be finished and then we'll start to painting and place the four ladders needed.
Knud is already building the judges grand stand which believe you me is going to be much easier to do than the railings on the diving tower, but you should come and see it, it's a beauty mate and Knud has performed miracles and half a dozen Houdini tricks.
By the time he finishes this grandstand then it will be time to fix the roof of the building, install louvers on the top pitch and enclose the building and get the electricians in, and place the five bays of glass down between the diving and Olympic pool.
Then we'll have to finish setting up the plant room, construct the entrance, paint the walls and set up the sauna.
As those who monitor the progress of the diving pool must have noticed, work has been scaled down for we are nearly out of funds. By the way, all monies donated to the pool are tax deductible. Any donations should be made to the Lightning Ridge Pool Association Inc, P.O. Box 179 Lightning Ridge NSW 2834.
Thanks a million to Pater Carroll for donated $1200 towards the diving pool. Mate you're a true blue dinky-di Aussie and may your fantastic deed be returned to you a thousand fold.
