The weather is warming up and it is definitely fishing time, particularly for cod fishermen.
This weekend will be the last time you can catch a cod until next year - cod season closes midnight on Sunday.
Nobby's Fishing Club competition is on again beginning tomorrow morning.
You can fish anywhere but you must register at the Lightning Ridge Hotel Motel before you leave - $5 per member and be back at the pub to weigh in before 5pm on Sunday.
Once again prizes will be awarded in three categories - largest cod; largest yellow belly and kids yellow belly.
The Nobby's Fishing Club raffle will also be drawn at the Hotel Motel at 5pm on Sunday.
The fantastic raffle prize is a rod and reel, tackle box and knife - $300 worth altogether.
Tickets are available from Week's Newsagency or at Nobby's on Thursday night.
