The Lightning Ridge Junior Soccer Club played the last games of the season in Walgett on Saturday.
The kids' games were followed by the annual parents and coaches match, Ridge v Walgett, resulting in a spectacular victory for Walgett.
Speculation that the Walgett team had cheated was voiced and there will be an inquiry into the claims as soon as investigators have finished elsewhere in town.
The Walgett team was accused
of 'playing with an unfair advantage'.
The Ridge team were also under fire facing possible disqualification, because they had too many players inside the net. Walgett officials later withdrew this complaint saying that it made no difference how many Ridge players stood in front of the net, the balls still got through.
