Fierce polocrosse action

Polocrosse teams from throughout the region came to compete in Lightning Ridge on the weekend.

Ten teams from Dubbo, Cubberoo, Gulargambone, Warren and the Marra provided fierce competition for the Lightning Ridge teams.

Dubbo (1) won the A grade competition with Warren being named runner-up.

The Marra just beat the Lightning Ridge team in the B grade competition and Cubberoo won the C grade beating Dubbo (2).

Cubberoo won the D grade competition with Lightning Ridge (2) coming runner-up.

Local boy Guy Tribe was named the best and fairest player in the sub juniors and Slade Tribe was named best number three. Murray Scott was named best number one of the juniors and Browyn Scott was best number two.

"It was a very good weekend, although it was cold and windy. We had good games and good fun," Lightning Ridge Polocrosse Club secretary Marree Dawson said.
