Cold day for championships

The day for the final round of the women's foursomes championships started cold and ended even colder, but that didn't stop the leading group battling it out with fine golf.

Results for the day: Nett winners: Kay Hogan and Kath Johnston; runners-up Robina Boardman and Carmel Fiddling with a ball each to Jenny Burke and Sally Williams.

The overall nett winners were Carmel and Robina on a count back from Jenny and Sally.

Vets

The winner was Wolf Moosmueller, runner-up Knud Nexo and a ball to Bruce Buchanan.

Chicken run

There were 20 local entrants plus some annual visitors this week which made for a very busy day. Winner was Jan Davis. Chooks went to B. Fahey, Wolf Moosmueller, Victor Borkovic, Winsome O'Brien, Brett Hyland, Carmel Fiddling (2), Sally Williams, H. Lord, G. Davidson, Bruce Buchanan, Ron Canlin, Heidi Smith, Terry Wohni, Brian King and Felix Monch. Last of all in this large field came Elyn Nexo.

12 hole stableford

Winner was Carmel Fiddling and runner-up was Brett Hyland.

18 hole stableford

Winner was Don Welsh and runner-up was Knud Nexo with a ball going to Barry Fahey.

Long weekend chook run

Winner was Val Boardman.

Tomorrow: Chook run: 8.30 to 3.30 hit off.

Saturday: 12 hole stableford - medley: 12.30 hit off.

Sunday : 18 hole stableford: 9am hit off. Brewarrina Open.

Wednesday: Medal round - eclectic - putting: 9am hit off.

Veterans: 12 hole stableford: 1.30 hit off.
