Clash of the titans

25 Jul, 2002 09:01 AM
Last Thursday night was a clash of the titans with Alfie Seaton rolling the bottom half of the draw with some fine play to meet Mick W Brown who knocked Anna Gregory out of the semi-finals to play in the final. A game of tactics ensued with Mick pipping Alf at the post to bag yet another victory.

Anna didn't have long to wait for another chance at the title.

On Sunday afternoon she accounted for Mick, Lou and Daryl on her way to meet none other than her hubby Ronny. Ron had already taken care of rampaging Roy and Dave Murray for a crack at his Missus in the final. The game was a crowd pleaser with good sportsmanship and spirit being displayed. No sledging was heard or hurled with Anna emerging on top to claim her first victory of the season.

The committee would like to thank all competitors and congratulations to all the finalists during the week.

Names for the snooker competition are still being taken until Sunday, with the draw to be decided after the pool competition.
