Bowls carnival a huge success

11 Feb, 2004 04:16 PM
Thirty-two teams and two reasonably mild summer nights made for a highly successful bowls carnival at Lightning Ridge Bowling Club last Friday and Saturday.

Players from Dubbo, Boggabilla, Goondiwindi, Bollon, Kempsey, Walgett, Goodooga and the Ridge made up the teams which contested six games over the two nights, The competition was very keen with only six remaining undefeated after the first night.

In an interesting situation all six unbeaten teams had to play against one another on the second night. As a result only one team survived the fierce competition and recorded six wins from six games. Congratulations to Tony Lamb and Graham Morris the eventual winners.

The club would like to thank all visiting bowlers for their support and of course all out local bowlers whose continued participation in all our events make them such a success.

Results

1st - Tony Lamb and Graham Morris (6 wins)

Equal 2nd - Joe Demkanin and David Samuelsson, Victor Murray and Darren Richards (5 wins, 1 draw).

4th - P.W. Morris and P.A. Morris (5 wins)
