On September 16, ten students from the Lightning Ridge Central School travelled to Tamworth for the Regional Primary Athletics Carnival. There were excellent efforts from Ceejay Harrison who competed in six events in very trying conditions. There were also big improvements from Bill Turk and Bianca Jackman, getting personal bests in long jump. The junior boys relay team and senior girls relay team did very well, finishing in fifth place. The students that travelled down were Bill Turk, Alexandria Thompson, Rhys Brown, Bianca Jackman, Shannen Skuthorpe, Sharnee Bartlett, Caitlin Finne, Jonathon Forsberg, Brody Simon and Ceejay Harrison.
