With the championship season drawing to a close it’s about time we gave a pat on the back to our greenkeepers Adam and Nathan who have done a splendid job keeping the greens in such good order given the weather conditions at times.
Also to Bob Newman who, together with Joan Gebetsberger, has spent many days umpiring as well as doing a superb job running the social bowls enjoyed by so many. From all the bowlers, a big thank you.
Twenty three bowlers from Coonabarabran will be visiting the Ridge to play bowls on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27.
All interested in playing please put your names on the board. This will be followed by a barbecue.
Judy Greenfield and Bob Newman have advanced to the final of the mixed pairs where they will meet Wilma Jones and Nathan Woodcock.
This is the third time in four years that these two couples have met, so it should be a good game to watch.
A reminder to all lady bowlers that their monthly meeting will be held this Friday, instead of Saturday, owing to the Coonabarabran visit.
Social bowls on Sunday saw the winning combination of John Warwick and Wilma Jones Peter Collinson, Ian Barclay and John Tamos as runners-up .
