Congratulations to Nathan Woodcock and David Webb who made a clean sweep of the champ of champ zone pairs at Inverell on the weekend, they will now head to Sydney to play in the State.
Go get’em boys.
There were 21 bowlers who came from Coonabarabran last week end for a friendly tournament at the Ridge.
With dust swirling around, the weather was not exactly conducive to ones A game, but a great time was had by
all.
Played on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning this was followed by a delicious barbeque lunch, with many thanks to Peter Williams.
There were two finals that took place this last week.
The finals of the mixed fours with Toby Egan, Chris Egan, Derek Brown and Lyn Carney against last year’s runners-up Judy Greenfield, Adam Webb, Joan Gebetsberger and Bob Newman.
Toby’s team got away to a flyer and it looked rather impossible for Jude’s team to catch up but slowly they made ground but not enough and went down in the end by five shots.
Toby and his team will
now play against possibly Walgett to see who goes to Zone.
The other final was the Ladies pairs with Chris Egan and Joan Gebetsberger emerging the winner against last years winners Jude and Lyn.
Well done to all the winners.
The semi-final of the ladies singles was also played with Chris Egan up against Lyn Carney who was leading at one stage by 16 - 2 but slowly Chris clawed her way back with some precision upshots until they were 26 all then a three and two ones put it beyond doubt.
She now meets Ann Barclay in the final.
Until next week good bowling everybody.
