The Women’s Club Championship is coming to a close with most events down to the finals.

Congratulations to Joan Gebetsberger who took out the minor singles from a very determined effort by Carol Doherty.

Last year’s district champion Ann Barclay had a very convincing win over Judy Greenfield and now advances to the final where she will meet the winner of the game between Chris Egan and Lyn Carney.

Judy and Lyn, last year’s pairs champions, meet Chris and Joan in the finals which should be a good match to watch.

District champions Judy, Lyn and Ann have advanced to the finals of the triples beating Chris, Joan and Liz Smith in appalling conditions where everybody had trouble hanging onto their bowls in the wet, cold conditions last Sunday.

They now meet Meg Morris, Wilma Jones and Liz Collins in the final, another good game to watch.

Toby and Chris Egan and Derek Brown and Lyn Carney had a very exciting game against Big Phil, David Webb, Wilma Jones and Liz Collins to win the mixed fours semi-final. An extra end had to be played with the score at 21-all on the 21st end and Toby and his team got there by one shot. They now meet Judy Greenfield, Adam Webb, Joan Gebetsberger and Bob Newman in the final.
