The two-person ambrose game on Sunday, February 21, attracted 14 players. The winners with a great score of nett 67 were Noel Underwood and David Schafer. Congratulations to both of them.
The veterans 12-hole stableford on Wednesday February 17 was won by Vidar Hanvold with 20 points. Kay Hogan won the ball.
Alan Huskinson was the winner of Friday’s chook run with 23 points. Chooks down the line went to David Schafer, Vidar Hanvolvd and Victor Borkovic.
Saturday’s 12-hole stableford was rather poorly attended but hotly contested with Wolf Moosmueller being the winner with a nett 49.34. Alan Huskinson was runner-up with a nett 49.67, so there was not much in it. Well done to both players.
As mentioned before Noel and David won the ambrose and runners-up were Alan Huskinson and Adam Webb with a net 68.25. Balls went to Ron and Kay Hogan.
Time is marching on this year and it is time to remind everyone that Opening Day for the club is Sunday March 7. The game that day will be a three-person ambrose so prepare early and get your team together now.
Opening Day for women will be held on Wednesday March 17, so ladies, it has come time for most of you to get some practice in before then. We have not seen too many women on the course over the summer so you may also have to dust the cobwebs off your clubs.
The Outback Division of General Practice held an evening at the club house on Thursday of last week for mens health which was very well supported. All the chaps seemed in fine form and enjoyed the delicious meal prepared by Keith Hackett and cooked by Butch and Rod.
No doubt the talk given by Mick was informative and hoping that some questions were answered on mens health. It is about time that our men started to look after themselves.
Next week’s games will be as follows:
Friday, Chook run, hit off 8.30am to 4.30pm.
Saturday February 27, 12-hole TBA, hit off 8am.
Sunday February 28, 18-hole TBA, hit off 8am.
Wednesday March 3, Veterans 12-hole stableford, hit off 8.30am.
Until next week, take care, look after each other, keep cool and enjoy your golf.
