The men commenced their club championships on Saturday July 10 with a very disappointing number of players.
They play four rounds for the event so Saturday was the first. The second was played on Sunday.
Alan Huskinson is leading A grade with scores of 70 and 70 off the stick.
David Schafer is leading B grade with rounds of 84 and 91 and Wolf Moosmueller is leading C grade with consistent rounds of 92 and 92.
The women played a Canadian Foursomes on Wednesday July 7 and the winners were Winsome O’Brien and Robina Boardman with a net score of 72.5.
Knud Nexo won the men’s veterans’ 12-hole stableford with an unbelievable score of 32 points. Well done Knud.
Alan Huskinson won Friday’s chook run with 24 points. Chooks down the line went to Wolf Moosmueller, David Schafer and Barry McMenemy.
The daily winner for the stroke round on Saturday July 10 was Alan Huskinson with a great score of 70 off the stick and a net 65. Runner-up was Peter Glogauer with a net 68. Wolf Moosmueller, Kay Hogan and David Schafer won balls.
Sunday’s stroke game saw Alan Huskinson win the daily award again with another great round of 70 off the stick with a net 65.
The runner-up was Kay Hogan with a net 67 and Wolf Moosmueller and Joe Popovic won the balls.
News just to hand: Sally Williams defeated Kath Johnston in the Match Play semi-finals, one up on the 18th hole.
That must have been a nail-biting game. Congratulations Sally, you are now in the finals to compete for the championship.
The third and fourth rounds of the men’s club championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday July 24 and 25.
If you missed out on playing either of the first two rounds you can still play on those days as there is always the daily event run in conjunction with the championships.

Wednesday July 21: Veteran’s 12-hole stableford. Hit-off 1.30pm.
