Peter Glogauer won the mens’ final medal round for 2009 on Sunday with a wonderful score of 80 off the stick and a nett 61. This now entitles him to participate in the medal of medals play-off, which will be held in a few weeks. This is a very prestigious event that all golfers try to win.
Congratulations Peter, a really great game, best of luck in the medal of medals.
The daily winner was Peter Glogauer, runner-up was David Schafer (nett 68) and balls went to Alan Huskinson, Kay Hogan and Chris Underwood.
The women played the Mabel McKenzie event on Wednesday October 7. Cheryl Cook won and Kay Hogan was runner-up.
The mens’ veterans 12-hole stableford held on Wednesday October 7 was won by Felix Monch with 24 points. Seven men played this game but unfortunately there were not any other results in the book, so I cannot report on them.
Thursday and Friday’s chook run held October 8 and 9 saw Karl Voeks come in with the winning score for 26 points on a countback from Alan Huskinson. Good game from both of you.
Chooks down the line were won by Alan Huskinson (2), Felix Monch, Peter Bryon and Peter Glogauer.
Rather a poor field for the chook run event but everyone had work to do or were away.
A 4BBB game was played on Saturday October 10 and six teams tried to win this event. Jenny and Chris Underwood were the winners with a terrific score of 49 points. Well done to both of you.
Kay and Ron Hogan were runners-up with 46 points and a ball went to Felix Monch and Heidi Smith.
The next week’s games will be as follows: Today, chook run, hit off 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Tomorrow, continuation of chook run, hit off 8.30am to 4.30pm. Saturday, Individual 18-hole stroke, hit off 12.30pm. Sunday, 18-hole stableford, hit off 9am. Wednesday, Women’s TBA, hit off 9am and men’s veterans 12-hole stableford, hit off 1.30pm.
The Annual General Meeting of the Lightning Ridge Golf Club Ltd and Presentation Day are coming up within the next month or so.
