DARTS: Lightning Ridge dart players travelled to Hebel on Saturday to play the first leg of the Battle Of The States. We had 10 players each.
We started the morning off by thanking everyone for coming. Also thanking Mary-Lou, Chris and Kelly for allowing us to take over the pub. The kids were sent off to play and the games began.
Round one started off pretty good with at one stage The Ridge in the lead, however by the time the last dart was thrown Hebel was in front.
Thanks are extended to Tony for cooking our lovely lunch.
Round two saw the players re-mixed. From the side lines came shout of encouragement. Chris was almost taken out by a run away dart belonging to Carol.
With the last dart for Round Two Hebel were the overall winners for the day.
Scott and Greg won vegetable trays and Jenni and Jim both got a lovely bottle of red wine. The raffle was won by Layne, thank you to all who purchased tickets.
A fantastic day was had by all.
The second game in the series of the Battle Of The States will be held in the very near future. The shield was produced, designed and donated by Greg of Hebel Opal.
We would also like to thank Noel for donating the bread and Kelly for shaving her legs for the occasion, and to all the designated drivers and car owners for getting us home safely.
Players for the Ridge were: Tony, Scott, Neil, Brad, Bob, Jenni, Joan, Wilma, Patty and Carol.
