Conditions ideal for cricketers

26 Mar, 2009 09:42 AM
On Saturday it was too wet for junior cricket. The following report is from last week’s game which wasn’t published last week.

Conditions were ideal for junior cricket on Saturday, with the grass and pitch much drier than last week.

Max Hall and Brendan Lollback were the captains this time with Max’s team the winners on the day by 20 runs.

Max’s team batted first, posting a score of 105. Michael McGregor and Ben Williams opened with a big partnership. Michael (25runs), Ben (21) and Max (16).

All battered strongly and were very well supported by Balla McKenzie, Rory Cheal and Archer Holz.

Brendan Lollback took two wickets with Ben Ferguson, allister Curry and Darcy Kidd all yaking one each.

Brendan’s team replied with 85 runs in the 2nd innings.

Darcy Kidd (20), Brendan and Allister all led the way with the bat.

Max took two wickets and Archer and Ben Williams also took one each.

There was some impressive fielding this week with great catches by Bella, Darcy Kidd and Darcy Barrett.

A big thanks to David Curry who umpired the game this week.

There are still three games to go before Easter. They are played on Saturday mornings at the cricket ground.

Training is 5pm every Tuesday.
