New face welcomed to the medical centre

14 Apr, 2011 02:57 PM
The Ridge’s medical centre is in full force again with two full-time doctors. The newest doctor to join the medical team is Dr Richard Green. Dr Green joins Dr Michael Clarke who has been working at the centre since 2009.

Dr Green, who has been in general practice for 10 years, made the move from Melbourne with his wife and two small

children. He said he had filled various locum positions and came across Lightning Ridge in February.

He looked into the practice and found the town interesting.

He spoke to the centre’s manager, Sandra Kuehn, and the administration at the Lightning Ridge hospital. It felt like a good experience

Dr Green has a 12-month contract with an offer of another 12 months, then maybe another two or three years.

He said he was enjoying his stay, had settled into work and felt he was fitting in with the medical centre and hospital.

“It is it less hectic than the city practice,” he said.

Sandra Kuehn said; “Dr Green has a likable personality and is an asset to the centre”.

“Everything is running so smoothly and the centre is happy with the continuity of care with patients.”
