Year 12 reflects on 13 years of school

19 Nov, 2003 05:38 PM
Lightning Ridge Central School Class of 2003 celebrated the end of their school life at the Year 12 formal and farewell on Saturday night at the Bowling Club.

Family and friends came along on the night to farewell the Year 12 students and reflect on the past 13 years of schooling.

The 13 Year 12 students went to a lot of effort on the night, and looked stunning in their various dresses and suits.

Several teachers spoke about the years they experienced with the students and wished them good luck in the future.

The students then had their say and thanked the school and the teachers for all their help in getting the students to this stage.

Year 12 has just finished their Higher School Certificate, with the last exam, information technology, held on Friday.

Year 12 advisor Julie O'Donoghue said the students were thankful that the exam period was over.

"Most of them are pretty relieved. I don't think it's really hit them yet actually, that it's all over," she said.

"Some of them are (glad to be leaving school), they've had enough. I think some of them will really miss it though, after they've had that little break away."

She said most of them are now planning holidays to relax and calm down after a stressful year.

HSC results will be available for students via the internet, SMS message and telephone on December 18 and through the mail on December 22.
