Potch Queen was back for 2003 and bigger than ever as five lovely 'ladies' tried to out-perform each other for the prestigious top crown at the Diggers Rest last Friday night.
‘Runaway Bride', aka Victor Johnston, came away with the title of Potch Queen at the end of the day with a performance that stunned the judges, along with everyone else in the crowd.
John Flintoff claimed second prize in his role as ‘Rotten Renee', and Mark Thompson was awarded third place.
Nathan Nagy charmed the judges as ‘Ida Shagwell' to be crowned Miss Personality for 2003.
All contestants went home with a prize on the night with ‘Pussy Devine', better known as Mark Breikopf receiving an encouragement award.
Lisa Carroll did a superb job as MC for the night and really got the crowd worked up and involved in the action.
The night was organised by Lightning Ridge Preschool to raise money for its operations.
Organiser Rebecca McKenzie said everyone from the preschool was really happy with how the night turned out.
"We're very pleased with how it went, it was very successful. We've had good positive feedback from everybody."
