Thanks to all for helping Opal FM

It is with pleasure I bring you, the members of Opal FM, the President's Report for the year 2004-2005. Opal FM has had a fair year again; we were able to pay accounts when due, and still have a steady bank balance at the end of the financial year. With the help of the Community Broadcasting Foundation, the station was able to receive grants during the year, which purchased equipment, in a new computer for the presenters to assist their programming and access the internet and be of use for any needs. The Community Broadcasting Foundation also assisted with a grant for running costs for the transmitter, which is of great benefit to the station. The Lightning Ridge Bush Safari also donated a refrigerator for the kitchen, which will be a benefit to all organisations who use the kitchen facilities. In March the station, with the assistance of Country Artists and the Country Music Listeners Association, organised a Country Concert, being a minor success. We are hopeful this will become an annual event. During the year there has been assistance with donations. We thank everyone who assisted the station with monetary funds, without your help it would make things harder to keep the station running. We wish to thank everyone who supported and assisted in our fundraising ventures, especially the barbecue we are doing each Thursday. It is much appreciated. Also, the assistance in other fundraising ventures, and a thank you to the volunteers who give their time to help at these events. We send a heartfelt thanks to the sponsors who have supported the station all year. I thank the presenters and volunteers for all their time and effort who keep the station and music running for the community and surrounding areas of Lightning Ridge. I wish the incoming committee the best for the coming year. I enjoyed being involved with the station and bringing enjoyment to the community, and thank those who give feedback and say a good job done by the volunteers. Bevin Brown President
