The first sale conducted since last November saw prices for all grades of trade and export reach higher than expected levels as the drought in southern NSW and Victoria has depleted a large percentage of their sale cattle.

Ninety per cent of the yarding were delivered and trucked on Thursday night for kills the next day, which indicates the shortage of prime stock at the present.
