Lightning Ridge Central School has put the development plans for stage two of the school construction works on public exhibition to coincide with Education Week.
The plans were placed in the school foyer following a meeting on Tuesday afternoon between the school's principal, assistant principal, a representative from Public Works and the Department of Education and Training.
The meeting on Tuesday gave the school its last chance to provide their input to the project managers with the departments before tenders were called.
Lightning Ridge Central School principal Fiona Prentice said the meeting was aimed at thinning out the finer details of the construction process.
"We talked about flexibility, traffic movements, wall compositions, visibility and supervision during the time construction works will take place, because we want everything to run as smoothly as possible.
The developed design drawings presented by the Department of Public Works to the school included phase one and phase two of stage two developments.
"The plans in phase one allow us to look at how the new library, staff facilities, visual arts and performing arts buildings will look and how they fit in the bigger picture."
She said phase two involved the development of the new gymnasium and canteen.
"All these new buildings will see the eventual removal of the relevant existing demountables.
Ms Prentice said the demountables would be relocated to make way for the new buildings during the upcoming school holidays.
However she said ongoing consultation would take place during the whole development and construction process when needed.
