Triple P is an excellent program enabling parents to explore and develop their own skills in positive parenting and to manage children's behaviour. The fantastic thing about the program is that it is for every parent. Every parent can participate in the program and gain benefits for themselves their children and families.
The Lightning Ridge Rotary is supporting this program by providing participants with their Every Parents Group Workbooks, reducing the cost for people to enrol. The Positive Parenting program is made up of eight sessions over an eight week period.
Sessions one to five are group sessions, session six to seven are telephone sessions (approximately 15 minutes) implementing routines one, two and three and session eight is a group or phone session.
Week one is understanding positive parenting, week two promoting children's development, week three and four are managing misbehaviour and week five planning ahead.
The program will be conducted on Wednesday evenings starting on August 4.
Session one will run from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
Sessions two, three, four and five will be from 6pm to 8.30pm and session eight will run from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
The program will come to a close on September 22. The program will be held in the kitchen room of Lightning Ridge Central School.
The cost of the program is $20 per family and both partners are encouraged to attend.
